Your information
Privacy notice
How information is used in the directory and how to ask for access, a correction or help.
Information in the directory
Public listings may contain a business name, business contact details, physical location, public description, services, photos and recorded certifications or approvals. The records may come from business submissions, directory imports and review work.
Information about identifiable individuals, including sole traders, may be personal information even when connected to a business. Private administrative notes and non-public evidence files are not displayed by the public listing pages.
Information you submit
The contact form collects your name, email address, enquiry topic and message. The listing request form also collects a business name, request type and, if supplied, a phone number. A request may be associated with an existing listing.
We use those details to record your request, respond to enquiries, assess listing ownership and correct directory information. Fields marked required are needed to process the request. If you choose not to provide them, the form cannot be submitted.
In this local build, submissions are stored in the site’s local database for review. They are not automatically emailed or published as business listings.
Browsing, cookies & technical information
The web server records technical request information such as IP address, requested page, response status and request time in its local logs. These logs help operate and troubleshoot the site.
Session cookies support form security, submission receipts and administrator sign-in. Your Google advertising preference is stored in this browser. Google advertising remains disabled in local development. Some homepage features load scripts from third-party services; your browser may send technical information to those providers when it requests their resources.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling session cookies may prevent form submissions and sign-in from working.
Who can see information
Public listing information is visible to visitors. Enquiries and listing requests are intended for authorised administrators handling those requests. Submission details are not shown on public listings.
The local development database is held on this computer. Hosting, service-provider access and any overseas processing arrangements for a live version have not yet been configured and will need to be described before publication.
External services & links
Business websites and map directions open external services when you follow those links. Those services may collect information under their own privacy notices. PanelDirectory does not control their handling of information.
Storage & retention
The local site keeps directory records, form submissions, administrator activity and technical logs in its application database and log files. Information should be kept only for as long as needed for its purpose and any applicable obligations. A documented retention and deletion schedule is still to be set for the live service.
A listing correction or removal request does not automatically erase every administrative record. Requests should be assessed with reference to the purpose of retaining the information and applicable requirements.
Access, corrections & concerns
You may request access to personal information held about you and ask for a correction. Use the privacy enquiry form, identifying the information or listing concerned. We may need to confirm your identity before releasing personal information.
If a requested correction is not made, you can ask for a statement of the correction sought to be attached to the information. For independent information or an unresolved privacy concern, see the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Directory advertising
Advertising areas are labelled separately from business listings. A paid advertisement does not establish that the listed repairer endorses the advertiser, and payment does not change directory verification.
When Google AdSense is enabled on the live site, you can allow Google ads or keep them off using the control below directory results. Before you allow Google ads, these placements show a PanelDirectory message without contacting Google. If you allow them, Google and other advertising vendors may receive your network address, device/browser information and advertising activity, and may use cookies or similar storage to personalise and measure advertising based on visits to this and other websites. We do not pass your directory search coordinates, account email, booking details or customer photos as advertising parameters.
See how Google uses information from partner sites and Google advertising preferences. You can change the directory's Google-ad preference below directory results. Turning ads off reloads the page and stops new Google ad requests from these placements; it does not remove cookies already stored by Google or other services.
Updates to this notice
This notice will be updated as the service’s operation changes. The live version should identify the operating organisation, its privacy contact and the practices that apply to the published service.
Google Maps and Places
Opening a workshop spotlight loads an embedded Google map. Google receives the browser’s request, including the network address and technical browser information; its own cookies or storage may apply. Following map, direction and review links opens Google. These features are covered by Google’s Privacy Policy.
A live rating lookup starts only when you request it. Our server sends the recorded business identity and address or its Google Place ID to Places API (New); it does not send your browser geolocation or enquiry details for a rating lookup. We keep Place IDs and request usage/outcome records for matching and cost control. We do not persist Google ratings, review counts or review text, or cache that content across visits. Local development may show clearly labelled test ratings, which cannot be enabled in production.
Browser geolocation is requested only after you choose Use my location. Search coordinates are excluded from canonical URLs and structured data; directory responses use a no-referrer policy.
Repairer accounts, ownership and billing
We store account email, a securely hashed password, verification and reset-token hashes, ownership evidence, listing edits and administrator review decisions. Private research and ownership evidence are not displayed publicly. Session cookies support login and are not advertising cookies.
Stripe processes payment details and supplies customer/subscription identifiers, invoice references and subscription status to PanelDirectory. We do not store card numbers. See Stripe’s privacy policy. Operational email is sent through the configured mail provider; verification links expire and are single use. Public-source discovery retains factual business details, source references and review dates; it does not authorise unsolicited marketing.
